What to Expect on a North Kerala Detox

North Kerala is quieter than the south. Expect riverside cottages, slow canoe rides, and spice-scented air.

North Kerala is quieter than the south. Expect riverside cottages, slow canoe rides, and spice-scented air.

**The rhythm** Unlike tourist-heavy Alleppey, our North Kerala detox moves at the pace of the river. Mornings start with yoga or a slow paddle. Afternoons are for hammocks or cooking demos. Evenings end with a hilltop meditation as the sun sets over the paddy fields.

**The stay** We use family-run riverside cottages. Rooms are simple, clean, and open to the water. Mosquito nets are provided. Hot water is available, though sometimes bucket-style, which we consider part of the detox.

**The food** Malabar cuisine is seafood-forward, but we accommodate vegetarians easily. Meals are home-style: puttu and kadala for breakfast, fish curry or avial for lunch, and light dinners.

**What to bring** Cotton clothes, strong mosquito repellent, a good book, and an open mind.
